It's the real deal with the newer features relative to the 2022 version, but we are left without Beatbox 2 and imposed the piano reel style sequencer which I have always disliked.Now outside of this, it's the easiest program to just drag, drop, time adapt and automated snap to time grid DAW I've ever used. It does everything but the interface is proprietary and far less intuitive than the overwhelming number of popular DAWs. Those on the other hand with an equal roster of features are very cluttered in drop down menus and efficiency of sequencing is the popularized piano real sequencer pads.Anyway, this is suitable for really any music video project.The old school effects are enough to produce something clever that modern youth will watch.It's easy to get high quality instrument and vocal recordings as well as mix them.Magix always reminded me of what I thought was an attempt to bridge the user interface of console games and applications, with the known computer world of windows based interfaces.I have had various versions of this program, and was always able to drag and drop things like Beatbox 2 and other synths, into the newer programs. I'm sure I can find Beatbox2 again and do it with this.

This is a fun program. You can "hit the ground running" because of its simplicity.

I got this so my teenage niece and nephew could play around with it when here, They are both musically inclined and I knew this would be fun for them,. Yes, there is a learning curve and there are issues with it crashing at times, but there's enough on there to keep them busy and they can have fun with it. They aren't music pros so they don't need some expensive software. I think they will become better with it over time and they have the patience to figure it out. And it's productive fun learning for them. It's important to know what our going to get and if you have the proper expectation of the limitations, then you should be fine with this.

After some problem understanding what was going on and help form the shipper. It is working. It is more advanced than last Magix program but dfI hope to get use to it soon.

I want to say this is a 5 star mid-tier music mixing and mastering program, but I can't. One of the bundled programs (the registry cleaner) took a chunk out of my WIndows and I had to revert back to my last back up to restore my PC to a working state. DO NOT INSTALL any other bundled programs like SImpliclean!The extent of my music knowledge is woefully amateurish. I know my do ray me's and can play one song on the piano. The strongest part about this program for aspiring musicians is that much of the hard work is already done with the soundpools. You are not going to achieve Tiesto or Coldplay levels of production, but you can easily cobble together some attractive tunes with the existing tracks. If you wish to experiment and compose, there are keyboard synths galore and even some digital renderings of analog synthas such as the Robota Drum Synth/Sequencer. A touchscreen PC or laptop is recommended for this program.You can even upload your own sound samples for mastering. The major weakness in the Soundpools are the vocals. It's basically one guy or gal singing different sounds. You will want to record new vocals if you want to produce a hit song. For my personal preference, the best sounds are in the Guitar and Techno soundpools. Be prepared to shell out more dollars if you want limited publication rights.Learning this program as an amature will take months, but it is enjoyable. I can recommend this program as long as you avoid installing any other bundled software!

REVIEW UPDATE: I gave this to my roommate to figure out and she LOVES it. She's more patient than I and she says that it's awesome for creating her own backtracks for her vlogs. Review updated to 4 stars.Original review stated my frustration that the software was not very intuitive to figure out. Apparently it just took someone with more patience than I!

I'm a long time DJ, podcaster and amateur but budding electronic music producer. I've slowly began learning various Digital Audio Workstations (D.A.W.) over the past 2 years but have never used Magix software before. Primarily I used FL Studio but in the beginning I found it very overwhelming and complex so I was looking for something simpler. Although reviews seem to be mixed I thought I would give MAGIX Music Maker 2016 Live a try. Here are my thoughts;Pros+ Extremely affordable (Physical CD version) for a DAW, especially compared to others on the market.+ Comes with an admirable amount of sound banks as well as decent amount of audio manipulation tools.+ Intuitive and easy to use compared to other music production programs I've used.Cons- Prone to occasional crashes in Windows 10. (Although this is many DAW's)- Ability to import certain sounds, samples and tracks is limited.- Prevalent audio oddities, sound glitches, overlapping, function issues, screen lag etc.- Additional sound packs are quite spendy.- Install process comes with SimpliClean registry cleaner (optional tick box install).Let me start off by saying MAGIX Music Maker 2016 Live is perfect for aspiring and beginner music producers. I've been using it non-stop for the last month and have created a half a dozen admirable songs that I'm pretty impressed with. It's inexpensive compared to the majority of other DAW's on the market. It comes loaded with enough sounds, samples and effects for you to create and manipulate your own music. The learning curve is forgiving unlike other software and you'll really be able to construct music in a matter of hours using presets while learning the basics of song structure. This was perhaps the most useful thing of the software for me. However, with this comes a decent amount of crashes, plenty of audio and technical bugs which leads to frustration. But if you're willing to overlook these issues given the price of the software then you may just want to give MAGIX Music Maker 2016 Live a try if you're an amateur digital music producer.

It's fun to play with and it's pretty easy to create techno style music with it. I like that it's really meant to be played with in real time. But it is unstable/crashes rather regularly. And I have a strong workstation system with 16GB of ram and a Quadro video card. I definately wouldn't use it for live play because of the stability issues. I've used a Sony program before, and while I think this Music Maker has some interesting features which I could like over the Sony, the stability of the Sony software keeps me with that product.

love it great music program Just hatewhen computer crashes and the application needs to be reinstalled even on the same computer message stating you have exceeded usage of the key and need to purchase another one. Really sad you can only load this product 2 or 3 times
