Write and Arrange Music With Avid Sibelius Artist

Avid Sibelius Artist is music notation software for songwriters, composers, arrangers, students, and hobbyists who need more room than Sibelius First without the unrestricted engraving toolkit of Sibelius Ultimate.

Enter notes through the onscreen Keypad, a typing keyboard, or a MIDI keyboard. Magnetic Layout repositions score objects to help prevent collisions, while expressive playback and passage looping let you hear the notation and refine an idea before sharing it.

Current Sibelius Artist releases support up to 24 staves per score, making the edition suitable for bands, chamber groups, and other small or mid-sized ensembles. Add four voices per staff, lyrics, dynamics, articulations, chord symbols, guitar tablature, and common staff lines.

Dynamic parts remain linked to the full score, so a change to the score appears in the instrumental part. This Sibelius Avid product is a yearly subscription, with options to choose between 1 and 5 devices. It’s not a perpetual license.

The subscription also unlocks Artist features in Sibelius for mobile and includes updates and Avid support during its active term.

What You Can Do With Sibelius Artist

Artist covers the core notation, playback, exchange, and review tasks most independent creators need while reserving unlimited staves and deeper layout customization for Ultimate.

• Build scores faster: Start with 45 manuscript papers and 300 stock ideas in Sibelius Avid, then use automatic note spacing and a fixed Magnetic Layout to keep the page readable as you enter music.
• Write detailed passages: Use note values from 512th notes to double whole notes, duplets through nonuplets, double- and triple-dotted notes, jazz articulations, and diatonic or chromatic glissandi.
• Exchange and deliver files: Import and export MusicXML and MIDI, export audio as WAV, AIFF, or MP3, and publish finished scores to Score Exchange.
• Review without overwriting the draft: Add comments, sticky notes, and annotations; save, view, or print score versions; and use Review mode to prevent accidental edits during feedback.
• Share scores online with Sibelius Avid: Sibelius Cloud Sharing provides space for up to 20 scores, and recipients can view and play a shared score in a web browser without installing Sibelius.
• Listen with included sounds: Sibelius First Sounds comes with Artist, and the playback controls provide expressive playback presets, loop playback, and playback of selected repeats.

Artist uses fixed keyboard shortcuts and offers fewer customizable symbols, text styles, beam and rest groupings, brackets, chord symbols, and engraving rules than Ultimate. Check these limits before choosing Sibelius Artist for publishing work or large ensemble scores.
